Day 1 – Hold On – Hold Still

The first step toward renewal is recognizing what you have. Imagine a cup filled with water, but it’s spilling all over. The cup has holes that need to be patched to keep the water inside. Without addressing the leaks, the water will continue to drain, leaving the cup empty.

Similarly, life can be like that cup. If it falls or breaks, you need to hold on—first to your life, your values, and your purpose. It’s crucial to stop and reflect. Take a moment to carefully examine the state of your life. Are there people, activities, or habits draining your energy? Where is all your vitality going? Are you pouring your joy into things that don’t align with your true purpose? When we get caught up in distractions or negativity, it’s easy for our joy to fade into emptiness.

Tom had been working tirelessly at his job for years. His commitments and responsibilities consumed him to the point where he felt like he was constantly running on empty. One evening, after a long day, he realized that his relationships and his spiritual life had taken a backseat. He was pouring energy into work, but it was draining him, leaving him with little energy for God, his family, or his health. Tom decided to take a weekend away, disconnect from the distractions, and simply reflect. During this time, he realized that his “leaks” were his overcommitment and failure to prioritize God and family. After identifying this, he made a plan to refocus and restructure his life in alignment with his true priorities. It was a turning point in his renewal process. Can you relate to Tom ? Then it’s time to re-evaluate things in your life.

The key to renewal lies in stopping to hold still long enough to notice where we need to patch up the leaks in our life. Evaluate what’s holding you back, let go of what isn’t serving you, and refocus your energy into what will fill you up instead.

Call to Action:

Take some time today to reflect on your life. Identify the areas where your energy is leaking and take steps to heal and refocus. Hold on to what matters, protect your peace, and allow yourself to be filled with what brings you life.

Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10

This verse invites us to pause and reflect, allowing us to connect with God and understand the areas of our life that need renewal. Take time to be still, find peace, and recognize the blessings around you.

Prayer:

Dear Lord,

We come before you with open hearts, seeking peace and renewal. Help us recognize the areas in our lives where our energy is leaking, and guide us to patch the holes that drain our joy and vitality. Grant us the courage to release what no longer serves us and the wisdom to refocus on what brings us closer to our true purpose. May we hold still long enough to hear Your voice, be filled with Your peace, and live in alignment with Your will. Strengthen us as we renew our hearts and minds.

In Your name, we pray,

Amen.
