Life often brings us to seasons of waiting, uncertainty, or discouragement, where our hearts are heavy, and our hopes feel dim. It’s in these moments that God calls us to remember that His promises are unchanging, and His faithfulness is reliable. Our hope is not rooted in the fulfillment of our desires or the timing of our circumstances, but in the trustworthiness of God’s character and His perfect plan for us. Even when it feels like answers are delayed or things are not unfolding as we had imagined, God’s promises stand firm, and He is always working behind the scenes.
Jenna’s journey with infertility was long and painful. For years, she prayed for a child, but each month brought more disappointment. The unanswered prayers began to chip away at her sense of hope. One evening, she found herself overwhelmed with sorrow and turned to her Bible in search of comfort. She opened to Romans 8:24-25: “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.”

These words spoke deeply to her heart. Jenna realized that her hope didn’t have to be tied to the tangible outcomes she longed for. Instead, it was rooted in the truth of God’s faithfulness. She understood that even in the midst of her struggles, God’s promises were secure. His timing and His plans were perfect, and she could trust Him, even when the path ahead was unclear. This revelation didn’t immediately change her circumstances, but it transformed her perspective. With renewed faith, she chose to embrace the peace that comes from trusting God’s plan.
Jenna’s story mirrors my own. I too walked through a difficult season of infertility. After suffering an ectopic pregnancy and years of trying without success, the dream of becoming a mother felt increasingly distant. The more I hoped, the more it seemed like that desire would never be fulfilled. There were times when I felt I would never hold my own child in my arms. Yet, despite the heartache and doubts, I held on to the belief that God’s plan for me was still good. And today, my child is 11 years old, a living testimony of God’s faithfulness. Through the years of waiting and unanswered prayers, God’s promises remained true. My journey was long, but His faithfulness was unshakable, and He brought me through in ways I never could have imagined.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful
– Hebrews 10:23
This verse is a powerful reminder that our hope is anchored in God’s character. It’s not about what we can see or control, but about the faithfulness of the One who promises to never leave us. As we cling to that hope, we find strength to persevere through every season.
This day encourages us to refocus our hope, not on what we can see or control, but on the unshakeable trust in God’s faithfulness to fulfill His promises, even in the waiting. Just like Jenna, and just like me, you may find that God is faithful to bring your dreams to life in His perfect time.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to trust in Your promises. Renew my hope in You, even when the answers I desire seem delayed. I choose to hope in Your faithfulness, knowing that You are always at work, even when I can’t see it. May my hope remain unshaken, knowing that You are perfect in Your timing and plans.
In Jesus’ Name
Amen
