Day 15: Strength – Refueling in the Lord’s Presence

There are times in our lives when we feel utterly drained—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We’ve given all that we have, and yet it’s never enough. We try to muster up strength from within, but the well runs dry. No matter how hard we push ourselves, we eventually realize that our human strength is limited. It fails us over time. The good news? God is our ultimate source of strength, and when we are weak, He is strong.

Take Sarah’s story. She was a mother, a wife, and a working professional. She loved her family deeply, but after years of juggling responsibilities, she felt completely depleted. The demands of life seemed to be draining the very life out of her. She would try to take a break or rest, but her strength was never fully restored. One day, in the middle of her exhaustion, Sarah read Psalm 42:1-2: “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”

In that moment, Sarah recognized that she had been trying to find strength in all the wrong places. She had been looking to external things—vacations, coffee, even self-help books—for renewal, but only God could truly restore her. Sarah began to carve out time each morning to sit quietly in God’s presence, reading His Word and praying for strength. Slowly but surely, Sarah began to experience the deep rest that comes only from the Lord. Her heart, mind, and spirit were renewed, and she found herself able to face the challenges of life with a renewed sense of peace and purpose.

Sarah’s story is a powerful reminder for us all. Our human strength is fleeting, and we can’t keep going on our own for long. But when we come before God, He offers us His strength to carry us through. He is our ever-present help, and when we seek Him, He will renew us.

If you’re feeling weary and empty today, remember that God is the source of all strength. You are not meant to rely on your own energy, but on His infinite power. Come to Him, pour out your heart, and trust that He will restore and refuel you.

Psalm 42:1-2 compares our desperation for the Lord’s strength to a deer panting for water. The deer longs for the refreshing waters to revive and replenish it. Similarly, our souls long for the presence of the Lord to restore us. The world’s pressures, daily struggles, and challenges leave us weary, but the Lord calls us to come to Him, the true source of renewal.

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? – Psalm 42:1-2

Prayer:

Lord, I come to You today weary and in need of Your strength. My own efforts have left me exhausted, and I recognize that only You can truly restore me. Help me to seek You with the same desperation that a deer longs for water. Fill me with Your presence and renew my spirit. I surrender my weaknesses to You, trusting that You are my strength. Give me the courage to rest in You and rely on Your power to carry me through each day.

In Jesus’ Name

Amen.
