In our journey of revival, we often encounter seasons of brokenness—times when we feel shattered, overwhelmed, or like all hope is lost. These moments are painful, but they are also the very ones in which God can work most powerfully. God has a special way of taking what is broken and restoring it to something even more beautiful and purposeful than before. Revival in our lives often begins in these moments of deep need, when we are most aware of our limitations and desperation for His touch.

Take, for example, the story of Job. Job’s life was marked by extreme hardship and suffering. He lost his wealth, his health, and his family, leaving him in deep despair. Yet, through all of his trials, Job never abandoned his faith in God. Though he wrestled with confusion and pain, Job held onto a glimmer of hope that God could restore him. And in the end, God did restore him—his health, his wealth, and even his joy. Not only was Job’s life revived, but his understanding of God’s sovereignty and goodness was deepened.
In Job 42:10-12, we see the beauty of God’s restoration:
“After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the Lord had brought upon him, and they each gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring. The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part.”
Just as Job was restored, we too can trust that God desires to bring revival to our brokenness. Whether it’s a shattered dream, a broken relationship, or a wounded spirit, God can bring healing and renewal. It’s in the broken places that God’s restoration is most clearly seen—because it’s in those places where His power is made perfect in our weakness.
But restoration requires us to submit our brokenness to God. When we cling to the remnants of our pain, our mistakes, or our past wounds, we deny ourselves the fullness of His healing power. Job’s revival came when he let go of his bitterness and allowed God to work in his life. Similarly, we must allow God to bring wholeness, even when it seems impossible.
In the same way, God wants to revive and restore us. It’s not about returning to what we once were but becoming something new—stronger, wiser, and more deeply connected to Him than before.

Prayer:
Father, I come to You today with a heart full of brokenness. There are areas in my life where I feel defeated, where dreams have been dashed, and where my hope has faded. I bring these pieces to You, trusting that You can heal, restore, and revive what has been broken. Just as You restored Job, I believe You are able to bring restoration to my life, even in the most hopeless situations. Help me to surrender my pain and my disappointments to You, and to trust in Your timing and Your goodness. I invite Your healing touch into my life today. Revive my spirit, Lord, and help me walk in the fullness of Your restoration.
In Jesus’ Name
Amen
