Your tone of conversation with an individual reflects the depth of your relationship with that individual
Imagine hypothetically we know the exact date/ time we will die and we also know the truth that anything is possible with God. In such a situation, our natural human response if given a chance to converse with God would be to either plead with God to extend our lifetime or get angry at God for bringing such a wrath on us while coming to a conclusion that ‘ God does not love me anymore ‘ state of mind. How we react to such a situation really depends on our personal relationship with God.
Jesus was going to have the most agonising and gruesome death on the Cross. A death that’s most painful and shameful, dying a sinner’s death being a sinless man. In His human form, His final act before his death was His heartfelt prayer to His Father. Jesus did not get angry at God that He has led Him to this or felt abandoned by God when God who is mighty and able could take away this kind of death for Jesus , did not choose to.
Rather Jesus pours His heart out to God, calling Him ‘ Abba, Father ‘ . How heart-warming ! Jesus knew that God His Father is all able, all powerful and that He loves Him very deeply. Jesus also knows that is Father is a loving God who cares deeply for His creation and His plans are always perfect. Jesus was able to set that tone of ‘trust’ and ‘ love’ and ‘confidence’ even in His final conversation with God. That reflects the deep intimate loving relationship that Jesus shared with His Father
Abba, Father,” He said, “everything is possible for you.
Take this cup from me.
Yet not what I will, but what You will
Mark 14:36
I love it when my child comes to me boldly and without fear asking what she wants. My child knows I love her and that I want her to be happy. So she has the freedom to approach me anytime with the confidence and trust that Mommy will act in the best interest for her, even if that is a NO sometimes. The tone of my child’s conversation with me reflects the depth of our relationship. A relationship is built on sharing selfless love, effective communication, caring for each other and sacrifices made for each other in each other’s best interests.
This day of lent, stop and reflect for a moment very honestly. How is your tone of conversation with God ? Are you mad at God for something ? Are you deeply disappointed with God for that long awaited prayer answer ? Are you frustrated with God for not giving what you want ? or simply you are living in a denial that God does not love you or care for you anymore ?
Well, I have a good news for you. This is the truth about God from His Holy Word.
God is kind, merciful, patient, extravagant in love and full of blessings.
My prayer for you today is that you get to know Him and experience Him in a way you have never seen before , which will give a fresh revelation of His love for you. May your tone of conversation with God reflect your deep, loving , trustworthy relationship with God, now and forever more
Change your life, not just your clothes.
Come back to God, your God.
And here’s why: God is kind and merciful.
He takes a deep breath, puts up with a lot,
This most patient God, extravagant in love,
always ready to cancel catastrophe.
Who knows? Maybe He’ll do it now,
maybe He’ll turn around and show pity.
Maybe, when all’s said and done,
there’ll be blessings full and robust for your God!Joel 2:13-14
Stay Blessed in Him
