The word CATALYST can be defined as ‘ a person or thing that causes a change or event to happen ‘ , be it good or not so good
In our lives we often have numerous situations that demand our attention and energy. We have relationships that need to be rebuilt , blessings to be rejoiced over, injustices we fume over addressed , hurtful emotions to be dealt with , in addition to an expectation to keep our current life intact, pretend nothing is wrong and keep going on.
My thought for you today is
Who/What are you turning to, to propel the much needed change in/for your life ?
God has definitely, without doubt given us capabilities and abilities to deal with our own issues and situations. But is our emotional intelligence and high IQ combined with our physical abilities sufficient enough to act as a catalyst to propel a change to achieve the desired outcome of rebuilding, restoring and rejoicing over what God had blessed us with and live the abundant life God has promised us.
The simple answer is NO . The reason being though God has clearly given us what we need for our lives , our life is a partnership with God. We all have a choice to make. We can try our best to be at our best without God but ultimately we will fail
Let me share a simple secret with you that will potentially give you a totally different perspective to deal with all of your life issues
Your relationship with THE ONE that created you determines EVERYTHING
It may sound ironic, as you might ask me how can I have a relation with someone that I can’t see, someone that I can’t hear and someone I can’t feel? Someone who is not tangible in any way or form.
My friend, let me run a parallel example for this spiritual truth. Air is something we can’t see, feel or touch. But breath (air) is the essence of life. If we stop breathing, there is no life. Our acceptance or denial of the existence of air, is not going to change the very nature of air, to give life. It’s the same with God. One’s opinion or assumption is not going to change the very nature of God, to love you unconditionally.
The Bible encourages us to taste God first, before we make our own assumptions or judgments about Him. It’s like us getting a recommendation for a restaurant through a friend. We can’t really make a review on that restaurant’s food and pricing, until we personally visit that restaurant and taste / experience that for ourselves. Same with God, if we run by other people’s assumptions / experiences / knowledge of God in our lives, we are actually missing out on everything that God has for us
The Bible talks about God being the vine and us His branches. It clearly teaches us that without Him / apart from Him we can do nothing
4 Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me
5 I am the sprouting vine and you’re my branches. As you live in union with me as your source, fruitfulness will stream from within you—but when you live separated from me you are powerless
John 15:4-5
Personally in my life, I turned to the Word Of God to propel the change in my life. I was and is not perfect but when the WORD started consuming my life, my worldly nature started diminishing. The CROSS catalyst that I pursued had totally different standards to what the world expected of me to react to my situations. When the world does not understand something, usually it is labelled as ‘ insane’ . But that insane standard ( according to the world ) was the one that literally saved my life, from living my life like a victim to living a victorious life.
Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us
2 Timothy 3:16-17
Where the world expected me to act out in anger towards people that hurt me, the WORD catalyst propelled me to BLESS them instead
Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you
Luke 6:28
When my whole world was tumbling down and when I have to face the consequences of other people’s choices in my life, when I thought that I have absolutely no strength in me to move forward, when the world roared the lie ‘ There is nothing worth in my life ‘ , the WORD catalyst whispered the life giving truth into my ears, which propelled me to move forward with courage and boldness
My grace is enough; it’s all you need.
My strength comes into its own in your weakness.2 Corinthians 12:9
Where the world propels a destructive change with all its negativity, chaos,lies, self-gratification, the WORD (CROSS) catalyst propels the constructive change of bringing positivism, peace, life, hope, sacrifice and purpose to people’s life, that choose it
My friend, today is the day when I encourage you to stop looking to the world for answers and start looking to the WORD, that when you allow will propel the change, that will transform your mind by the renewal of your spirit !
God is waiting for you !! Join me on this journey ! Propel the CROSS Catalyst for your life today
Dear God,
I come to you as I am. Thank you for the CROSS ! As I lean onto your WORD looking for answers for my life , I pray that you meet me right there in my deepest pit. Help me to propel the WORD catalyst to bring about a positive transformation in my life, in my family and in this world
