EN’Courage’

As I was thinking of my next post for my blog sometime in May, I had this picture pop up in my mind.

I saw a pit and there were few people inside that deep pit. There was a way out of that pit but no one dared to try that. Everyone were saddened by the fact that they were trapped in the pit. Their minds could not think beyond the fact that they were trapped in the pit.

There was one person in the same pit as that of others. That person keeps looking for ways from inside that very same pit everyone is currently stuck. That one person takes courage and manages to get out of the pit.

What I saw next and what was revealed to me was amazing. That one person who actually was in the same pit as others could have walked away as he was free from the trap. But instead that one person took courage and chose to encourage other people to get out .And eventually that one person ended up getting all the people out of the pit

As I kept thinking on this picture for the past 2 days , I had the Word ‘encourage’ pop in my mind.

I had this on my heart that God wants us to be encouragers. We are called to be salt and light of the world. We are different because of the Christ in us.
We are called to be the positive influence and spread Hope.

Let’s picture the ‘pit’ as events in your lives. It could be anything ranging from relationship breakdown, divorce, abuse, loss of loved one, accidents , disabilities, sickness etc. When that happens to you, are you just stuck in the ‘pit’ without even realizing that you are stuck in it ? Do you have the courage to make an effort to come out of the pit ? God wants you to not just take heart and courage to come out of the pit, He also wants you to encourage others that are in the same journey as you. Don’t let that ‘pit’ to push you further down. Instead use that very same ‘pit’ as a propellant to get you out of it.

I want to encourage you with my personal testimony

Few years ago, when my marriage of 6 years broke and ended up in divorce, right after the birth of my daughter, I felt my life in that very same deep ‘pit’ where there was no way out. Forget about encouraging people , I did not even have the courage to come out of the whole thinking that my life has ended that way. My thoughts were trapped in that thinking and that only thinking was that my life was over. It took almost 2 years to realise that it was just my thinking and assumption that made me feel the way I felt. Me thinking and feeling that my life is over is not actually going to make my life over. I went through phases of anger, self pity , disappointment and grief.

Thank God, I finally knelt down to pray. When I did that , I heard God tell me

The pain in your journey is not yours to treasure
It’s to bless another’s painful journey beyond measure

Sindu Varathan

There were so many things that I learnt through my journey. One thing is to encourage single moms / women in the same journey as me. Sometimes in life things happen unexpectedly and suddenly. God is not to blame as most of the time it’s human foolishness. In your deepest pain and hardest times, take a quiet moment to stop questioning God and to just hear Him say He loves you.

Read this Bible Verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:11

‘So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it ‘

Would you take courage today from God’s Word ? Would you find someone that is going through a hard time ? Would you take courage to encourage them in their walks of their lives and be a positive Hope to them in Christ ? Pass on a random act of kindness to someone you don’t know.

Share your story !
I would love to hear back from you !!

Remember it takes ‘courage’ to EN’Courage’

Stay Blessed In Him
